Stories on Sunday
For children from 5 years, families and anyone who enjoys listening to stories. At the Literaturhaus Basel, free admission + breakfast or snack. Doors open: 10 minutes before the start of the event. Here are the next dates:

Children's Book Festival
The Children's Book Festival is an integral part of the international literature festival BuchBasel. Authors and illustrators present their latest works. The next Children's Book Festival will take place on 14–15 November 2026.

Stories in the park
The big reading festival always takes place on the last Sunday in August: Stories from all over the world are read aloud every thirty minutes in eight Mongolian yurts in Kannenfeldpark. With GGG Stadtbibliothek, Bibliothek St. Johann JUKIBU, Baobab Books, Bibliothek PZ.BS, KJM Basel, Musikbox der Vera Oeri Bibliothek, Club der Vorlesenden, Basel Authors and Actors. The next event will take place in September 2026.
Club of the Readers
In a one-day seminar all topics and principles for the work as a volunteer reader are discussed and worked on. If enough interested parties can be found, a date will be proposed. Those who have attended this seminar are accepted into the Club of the readers, receive a certificate, an ID card and an annual pass from the GGG public library.
